A Colorful Prayer

My friend (who has a great etsy shop, She Ate My Crayons --- check it out) found these stunning old prayer beads for me.

I just couldn't resist adding the antique hyacinth blue rosary chain and the green chalcedony beads at the back. And then there were these fabulous old thread swatches that I had just picked up at Artifacts, here in Iowa City...

All made for such a wonderful, colorful combination!

Thinking Spring!

Suddenly, my hand recoils from the brown wool sweaters in my closet.

I reach for happy colors like springy greens.

Soft beach blues...

and creamy hues.

Feminine, frilly, full of hope and rebirth.

Here's a little peek at some Spring inspired jewelry.

Listing soon, at Age Before Beauty.

Event-full

The other day I assembled some of my assemblage necklaces for a photo shoot.

I get a little giddy seeing all these glorious textures and patinas together!

The show is Saturday, December 3, 10-5. I'll remind you again...

Several talented, fabulous, artists and craftswomen will join
Age Before Beauty at Craft and Fancy.

Please come say 'hello', and revel in a bit of the past.
