I really adore old potmetal brooches from the 1930's and 40's.

The colors are always spectacular.

They are almost always slightly chippy. 

And they are often quite elaborately constructed. 

Building up layers of the image to create depth and dimension. 

 This is an incredible sailing ship, flanked by colorful and exotic flora.
